Community Health Fair

The Crockett Foundation’s annual Community Health Fair and Back to School Extravaganza has been one of the pillar community impact events coordinated by the foundation annually.

The Crockett Foundation Annual Community Health Fair

For the past 16 years, the Crockett Foundation has hosted its Annual Back-to-School Fair—one of South Florida’s largest and most impactful community health events.

We are always thrilled to provide free backpacks, essential immunizations, and clothing/shoe giveaways to thousands of families. It is the perfect opportunity to prepare for the new school year while enjoying a fun-filled day with loved ones.

History of the Community Health Fair

Hosted in partnership with Blanche Ely High School, the alma mater of founders Henri and Zack Crockett, the event provides access to essential resources and services to over 3,000 community members each year.

Inspired by their own personal experiences, Henri and Zac Crockett have committed to providing families with the essentials they need ahead of the start of the school year, and to combatting the ever-growing rates of preventable chronic illness and disease plaguing their hometown of Pompano Beach, and other communities of color nationwide.

Through the support of our funders and leveraging strategic partnerships with local entities such as the Children’s Servies Council of Broward County, HandsOn South Florida, the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), and the University of Miami, the annual event is able to provide both essential health screenings, and schools supplies including uniforms, shoes, books, and fully stocked backpacks to children and their families each year.

Both founders acknowledge the significant impact and importance of the annual festival for their community. Reflecting on its success, founder Zack Crockett noted that the event “has grown into a phenomenon” and continues to benefit more families each year. CEO and President Henri Crockett emphasized the importance of giving back, stating, “I think it’s important for us to come back and pay it forward.” The annual health festival serves as a tangible example of how the foundation embodies this value year after year.

Mission In Action

The fair is one of the many ways that the foundation turns the commitments and values outlined in our mission statement into action. The impact of the Community Health Fair is far reaching and goes beyond just equipping students and families with the essentials they need to succeed, but it also serves as a means of connecting over two hundred local volunteers to meaningful service activities, and uniting local service providers and funders together for the purpose of connecting with and serving community.
